Photo Friday - Textures

Last year I decided to plant some carrot seeds in one of my front flower beds. I like the leaves on carrot plants and I thought they would be kind of pretty, and if I could eat one now and again that would be lovely.  However, only one carrot survived - it is AZ and I'm not so great at planting vegetables at the right time.  Instead of pulling the one carrot at the end of summer I let it stay in the ground to see what would happen. This spring it has grown into this great big plant - about 3 1/2 feet tall and this is the carrot "flower".  It was kind of a cool experiment but now I'm curious to see how big the carrot is below this. Once the top dies I will dig it up and take a photo.  Anyway, in case you were wondering where carrot seeds come from, here is the flower. It has a pretty cool texture.

  1. I thought it was something that was going to seed, but wasn't sure what.
